How the Woodstock Retro Comicon handles personal information: what this site loads, who else sees it, and how to reach us about it.

Last updated: September 13, 2026

The Woodstock Retro Comicon is a one-day pop culture convention at the Woodstock Fairgrounds, hosted by Ontario Collector Shows. This page explains what happens to personal information on woodstockcomicon.com.

What we collect

  • When you sign up for email updates. The signup form is run by Mailjet (opens in a new tab), and the name and email address you type go to them. You get a confirmation email first — you are not on the list until you answer it — and every message we send carries an unsubscribe link.
  • When you pre-register for the Pokémon TCG tournament. We keep the name and email address you give us, so that we can hold your place and tell you if anything changes.
  • When you email us. If you write to info@collectorshows.ca we keep what you tell us so that we can answer.

Like every web server, ours records the address of each request, the browser making it and the time. Those logs keep the site working and secure.

What this site loads from elsewhere

The signup form is served by Mailjet, and it loads when the page does — not when you click it. So Mailjet is told that a browser at your address opened a page on this site, whether or not you subscribe. That is the only third party this site contacts.

There is no analytics on this site: no Google Analytics, no Tag Manager, no advertising pixel, and no cookie banner, because there is nothing to ask you about. The fonts, the stylesheet and every picture are served from this site itself.

How we use it

We use what you send us to answer you, to run the tournament, and — if you asked for it — to tell you about the show. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone outside the services below.

Who else sees it

Only the services that run the site: our web host, and Mailjet for the mailing list. Some of them store information outside Canada, where the laws of that country apply.

How long we keep it

Tournament registrations are deleted after the show they were for. Mailing list subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Emails are kept as long as they are useful, and then deleted.

Photography at the event

The Comicon is a public event, and photographs and video are taken at it — by us, by media guests, and by attendees. Those may be used to promote future shows. If you would rather not appear in ours, tell any member of staff on the day, or email us afterwards and we will take it down.

Your rights

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@collectorshows.ca and we will answer. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (opens in a new tab).

This policy may change; the date at the top says when it last did.

See you at the Fairgrounds

Sunday, May 3rd, 10AM to 5PM. Admission is $10 at the door, and that gets you the Comicon and the Pokémon & TCG Show next to it.
